This month we continue our Student of the Month series. This series gives us all the opportunity to get to know our students better. What are their fears, their challenges and their triumphs?

We, of course, omit any personally identifying information in order to protect our students. If you are a former or current Quantum Prep student and would like to tell your story, go to:

So how is the workload?

“Depending on which classes a student decides to take, it’s possible to have between one and five hours (of homework) per day. Each required class (math, English, history, science, and language) is taught to students 4/5 days a week except for AP science classes which are taught every day. For standard classes there is about thirty minutes of homework per night in every class, for honors its 45 minutes to an hour and for AP there’s between 1.5-2 hours per night.”

What are your goals for this year?

“I want to maintain a B or B- average in my AP classes. That’s my goal for this year. I think that my parents mostly care about the fact I’m working hard and trying my best.”

What are your plans after graduation?

“I’m hoping that with the help of quantum prep I’ll get into a good college. I used to be doubtful but now I’m not. “
“Unfortunately, I don’t know what college I’m going to be attending yet, but I’m hoping to find a good one on the East Coast that fulfills my learning needs. I want to be a teacher when I grow up, just like my amazing (Quantum Prep) teacher.”

Do you think having a one-one-one teacher has made a difference for you?

“Yes. I feel so much better about tests now that I have the help from quantum prep. I still study the same amount, but my (Quantum Prep) teacher helped me come up with new test taking/and studying strategies that have helped me a lot. “
“I get better grades and test and I always complete my homework now. Last year I have a 100% in homework in all of my classes. “

So it’s safe to say you’re having a positive experience?

“Yes, I look forward to them (tutoring sessions)! I used to only have them once a week but now I have them twice a week! I could not have found a more perfect teacher. (My Teacher)….is one the smartest people I’ve ever met and he’s by far the best and funniest teacher I’ve ever had. “

Don’t you ever disagree with or get frustrated with your teacher?

“No, I never disagree with my teacher about the work because he’s always right. Even though we may get into small disagreements on occasion he’s always super patient with me. “

Parting thoughts?

“I love Quantum Prep. It’s so helpful. I don’t know how I would do my chemistry homework each night and or not fail my SATS. “

We’d like to thank our student of the month for their candor and we at Quantum Prep will continue to work hard to help all of our students to realize their potential.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Go Warriors!
